Welcome to Tom Bean Elementary!

I’m Ashley Bearden, and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve as the Principal of Tom Bean Elementary. Stepping into this role is something I do not take lightly. Tom Bean is more than a school community to me, it is home, and I am excited to serve the students, staff, and families who make this place so special.

As an educator, I have served as a classroom teacher, instructional leader, and Assistant Principal. I have taught 1st–4th grade and have worked in Sherman ISD, McKinney ISD, and Plano ISD. I hold degrees from Collin College, Texas Woman’s University, and Lamar University, as well as my Principal Certification from Texas A&M University-Commerce.

At the heart of who I am as an educator is a simple belief: kids come first. I believe children learn best when they feel safe, loved, known, and believed in. I also believe that strong schools are built on relationships, trust, high expectations, and a positive culture where everyone feels that they belong.

As principal, I want our students to be excited to come to school, our teachers to feel supported and valued, and our families to know that we are in this together. My goal is to lead with heart, purpose, and a focus on what is best for kids every single day.

My family and I are proud to call Tom Bean home, and I love being part of the community beyond the school walls. Whether it is cheering from the stands, supporting our students at activities, or enjoying a Friday night Tomcat football game, I love seeing the pride and spirit that make Tom Bean such a special place.

I am excited for what we are building together at Tom Bean Elementary. There is so much to be proud of, and I believe our best days are ahead of us.
